Google Cloud Next ’17 Extended — Cairo
It’s not just a viewing party, we ❤ code then why not do a live coding session before the streaming?! Well, that’s what we did at GDG Cairo in Next ’17 Extended — Cairo ??
You may have known that Google held Google Cloud Next a three days event about it’s cloud platform at Moscone Center, San Francisco on March ’17. While there’s some lucky people who already flew there, some didn’t have that opportunity, that’s why GDG chapters (Google Developer Groups) around the world do viewing parties with live streaming for the keynote and maybe some of the sessions.
As a GDE (Google Developer Expert), I’ve been invited to do a live coding session about machine learning at GDG Cairo’s Next ’17 Extended event, and I’m glad it went good and we’d people’s attention and they got excited about what they can do with few lines of code, consuming Google Cloud Platform Machine Learning APIs.
Getting started with machine learning using cloud computing isn’t as hard as you may have thought. With Google Cloud Platform you’ve ready to use, state of art APIs full of intelligence such as Cloud Vision for image processing, Cloud Speech for sound recognition / transcription, Cloud Natural Language for text analysis, and of course Cloud Translate for language detection and translation.
I’ve published the presentation that I’ve used at this live coding session, it’s available online and open source for anyone to use. Link on Speaker Deckand link for editing on Google Drive.
Other resources and code samples linked within the presentation itself.
